Single joint compensators
- They are designed to allow angular rotation in only one plane, which is achieved by coupling elements (articulated levers and screws). This type of compensator cannot be used individually, but is always applied in sets of two or three pieces depending on the pipeline.
- The use of these compensators can compensate for large displacements of the pipeline, and the advantage of this type is the elimination of the need for robust solid points because the force due to internal pressure is taken over by the coupling elements.
